About NightWatch Epilepsy Detection
The NightWatch notifies caregivers remotely of nightly epileptic seizures an is devised by Dutch neurologists and recommended by epilepsy associations. The NightWatch is available to both healthcare institutions and home use. The NightWatch uses a unique combination of heart rate and motion monitoring, recognizing patterns of motion and heart rate changes with a high degree of accuracy. A smart algorithm recognizes whether these signals indicate an epileptic seizure that may require medical intervention. A large-scale study at the SEIN and Kempenhaege epilepsy centers, involving a large group of patients for thousands of nights, has shown that the NightWatch detects over 85% of clinically urgent seizures and notifies caregivers in time. This is over twice as much as alternative products currently available in the market. The study has been published in the Neurology. The NightWatch can be connected to the internet to store all recorded heart rate and movement data in the NightWatch Portal. It also provides an overview of detected seizures. The data can be accessed after each night in your personal NightWatch Online Portal and provides a better understanding of the user's nightly epilepsy.
