Nimble Fingers creates a sustainable solution to gender-based violence by addressing the root cause: Poverty. This requires sustained involvement of all stakeholders at the individual, community and state levels. With our 3-part approach, Nimble Fingers aims to address the issue of poverty and the gender-based violence it fosters, by tackling: Economic Empowerment Economic empowerment is an essential tool for women to gain independence, exercise their agency and take control over their future. Nimble Fingers will offer vocational training, finances and skills to run and sustain a business. Political Participation Without political participation, economic empowerment cannot be fully realised for young women. Nimble Fingers will host workshops to create female leaders and political activists, who will actively voice the concerns of women at the local government level, and beyond. Health and Sanitation Improved sanitation has the most critical effect on the health of women and girls, who are less likely to access healthcare due to their economic background. Nimble Fingers aims to bridge the scarcity of funding and stigma of women’s health, by providing information on sexual and reproductive health, and providing feminine hygiene products to the community.
