About Ningbo Huamao International School
Hua Mao Foreign Language School, a school of 5,500 boarding students, opened a new school for international, expatriate students & Chinese nationals in 2006. In December 2008 Mr Ivan Moore was appointed Principal of the International school attached to Hua Mao Foreign Language School, known as Hua Mao Multicultural Education Academy (or MEA). In June 2015 the school was awarded a new international school license and subsequently changed its name to Ningbo Huamao International School. NBHIS has grown from 8 fee paying students in 2008 to over 650 students, June 2015. The school’s initial development motto was “make it safe, make it fun and make it academically rigorous”. The school has undergone major renovations to enable this growth & a five year plan is underway to enable further development to ensure the school houses a bilingual Pre-school, the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years program, a Middle School teaching the iGCSE and the IB Diploma Program (DP) for senior students. The school is an IB World School Authorised to teach the PYP & DP. Facilities include: Reading Room, Library, Dance Drama Studio, computer & music suite, music auditorium, soft play area, Home Economics & Science Lab, concert & music halls, Science Museum, two stadiums, swimming pool, rubberised running track, grandstand and much more. An exciting development within Huamao has been the building of a ten million dollar Art Gallery where students hold an annual Art Exhibition.
