About NLP

One way to think about our lives is as a form of journey. On the way we develop, grow. We are often surprised, sometimes positively - but it can also happen that we feel a little bit trapped in certain patterns of situations, which we don't like, or the situations which aren't good for us. To my mind, at its core, NLP is just a toolbox that can help you find ways out of those difficult situations, charter a safer course for the future, explore more options, and notice new opportunities. In my opinion it's not a panacea that will solve problems, or cure every pain. It's an additional resource you can have to create a better life for yourself and your close ones, but it comes with work and limitations as well. This page will try and help you understand a little bit more about how it can help you. NLP explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic), and our patterns of behaviour (programming). It's very pragmatic approach, focused on the result, what works for you, it draws from different areas of knowledge and requires an open mind to explore its benefits. If you master it, you can use its elements to change, adopt, or eliminate behaviours - and it should be used to understand and better your own behaviours, not the ones of other people.
