NMKL (Nordic Committee on Food Analysis) was established in 1947 and consists of chemists, microbiologists, sensory analysts and statisticians from the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. NordVal International, reviewing and certifying proprietary methods, was incorporated in NMKL in 2007. NMKL is linked to Nordic Council of Ministers by EK-FJLS Food. Food experts from the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania joined NMKL 29 Aug 2022 and the name was changed to Nordic-Baltic Committee on Food Analysis.
