Nordian is a leading Private Equity manager in the Dutch mid-market. It focuses on majority stake investments in medium-sized Dutch companies. Nordian has invested in more than 37 companies over time and currently has € 500 million in capital under management. Founded in 2014, the company is the spin-out of Rabobank’s buy-out arm Rabo Capital. In our latest Fund, we are backed by a mix of European institutional investors, combined with our original cornerstone investors Rabobank (a leading Dutch bank), Commonwealth Investments (a Dutch family office) and PGGM (a leading player in pension and asset management). Nordian typically invests in one of the following situations: • Entrepreneur looking for succession. • Management buy-out or buy-in (MBO/MBI). • Large shareholder who wants to sell a (majority) interest in a company. • Management looking for additional capital to finance growth. • Sale of part of a larger group (carve-out). Typical characteristics of companies we invest in: • Dutch companies with an (potential) international footprint. • Proven business model and strong track record. • Clear strategic plan focused on realising (additional) growth. • Operating profit (EBITDA) € 3-15m. • Nordian typically investing at least € 10m. • Majority stake. • Active in non-government regulated markets. Nordian has a multidisciplinary team with a broad experience and expertise. It acts as an active shareholder, supporting the management team in realizing value for the company in an ESG sustainable manner.
