NBLC Leading the North Bay ... Employers Committed to providing leadership in ways to make the North Bay Sustainable, Prosperous and Innovative. Over thirty years ago, business leaders founded the North Bay Leadership Council (NBLC) on a simple premise: We can accomplish more by working together. Today, the Council includes over 40 select employers in the region. Our members represent a wide variety of businesses, non-profits and educational institutions, with a workforce in excess of 25,000. North Bay Leadership Council is an employer-led public policy advocacy organization committed to providing leadership in ways to make the North Bay sustainable, prosperous and innovative. As business and civic leaders, our goal is to ensure economic health by promoting better education, infrastructure, and governance to make our region a better place to live and work. In our third decade, NBLC has identified improving public education as our top priority in recognition that better early childhood education, closing the achievement gap for Latino students, increased readiness for college and careers, and greater numbers of students pursing math and science majors, are fundamental to gaining a competitive edge as a regional economy that is also facing serious challenges to our ability to retain and attract new jobs. In 2011, NBLC’s membership of the leading companies in the North Bay grew, providing an increased diversity of industry sectors contributing to our work.
