About North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children
Every day a child struggles in school simply because they lack something as basic as a pair of eyeglasses, shoes that fit, appropriate clothing, supplies, a hearing aid, or else. The North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children's mission is to meet those basic needs as quickly as possible so the child can be in school and focus on learning. Our foundation's mission also includes growing future teachers for North Carolina through the Teacher Cadet Program. Teacher Cadet ensures a future stocked with homegrown teachers who can relate to the students they teach. Teacher Cadet is currently North Carolina's only instate teacher recruitment program. We also strengthen our children's educational experience by providing grants to teachers and schools to fund professional development and endeavors that focus on parent engagement, literacy and learning.
