About North Cedar Academy
NCA is a private boarding school located in the safe and scenic Ladysmith, Wisconsin, USA. We are pleased to offer our classical American high school curriculum to students aged 14 through 19. At NCA, we take pride in our commitment to natural and environmental serenity, and we integrate these themes into our curriculum in unique ways. This focus, combined with our Advanced Placement, ESL/EFL/ELL support, and university pathway programs, ensures that we prepare our students for success long after they leave our campus. As a part of our included services, all NCA students receive personalized college counseling. Our students average 1150-1290 on the SAT and 27 on the ACT, and regularly go on to study at world-class universities: https://northcedar.net/university-acceptances. We offer a wide range of seasonal intramural sport extracurricular activities (ECAs), including badminton, basketball, cross-country running, cross-country skiing, cross-training, disc golf, downhill skiing, kayaking, pickleball, snowboarding, swimming, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, weightlifting, and yoga. We also offer various other extracurricular club and non-club activities, including arts and crafts, board games, chess, choir, e-sports, hydroponic gardening, international cooking, jazz band, makerspace, movie club, theater, virtual reality, and yearbook/multimedia. Among our many advantages, NCA provides students with a serene learning environment that leans into nature as a means of helping maximize the development of the whole self. We promote the pursuit of natural curiosity and prize kindness, goodness, thoughtfulness, and personal responsibility. Students in grades 11 or 12 can also apply for admission to one of our university pathway programs. If accepted, they can earn up to 60 university credits and are guaranteed acceptance to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, the University of Minnesota Duluth, or Middle Tennessee State University.
