About North Star Foundation
Our service supports people with disabilities to be fully included citizens, to be independent, enjoy their rights and responsibilities, and make their own choices. North Star is all about building a sense of community and belonging. We are funded by Local Authorities and NHS Commissioning Groups to support people with learning disabilities, autism, and neurodiversity needs to enjoy good lives and learn the skills to become independent. North Star specialises in: - highly personalised support for individuals and their families - finding people a home of their own and the right people to live with - putting individuals at the very heart of our service and building on their strengths and needs - developing networks of support with friends, family, and community Since its foundation in 2005, North Star has helped many people move to a home of their own and learn the valuable skills of independence and self-care. Our staff are extremely dedicated individuals who become experts in the people they support and use broad range of life skills and specialist training to open up opportunities for independence and overcome barriers to inclusion. Everyone involved in our service is actively engaged at the front line, making a difference to people's lives, and making people's dreams of inclusion and normal life a reality.
