About North Star Transition

North Star Transition is a collaboration network designed to increase the impact of our response to humankind’s climate, biodiversity loss and social crises. We aim to accelerate systemic change. Our starting point is this: when we know what we know about the various crises we currently face, why don’t we do more? And when we act, why do the actions we take look so unimpactful? Our current global system is complex and adaptive. It is made up of deeply inter-connected and interdependent systems that, in aggregate, are highly resistant to change. We urgently need to co-create the dynamics of change in business practices, public policies and individual behaviours that enhance the chances of an orderly transition to a new human-social system. Further, climate and environmental goals are crucial components of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda – if we fail to address these issues, that entire effort is at risk. We need a new approach because the current ones are not delivering the necessary results. We need a new direction – a new North Star – to imagineer a more resilient, regenerative, safer and happier future.
