About North Texas Performing Arts
North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to developing the character of youth through quality performing arts education and family entertainment. With locations in Plano, Fairview, Frisco, Dallas, and Southlake, NTPA serves more than 11,000 students annually and stands as one of the largest youth theatre organizations in the United States. NTPA offers a wide array of programs for students ages 3–18, including major musical productions, straight plays, technical theatre training, film programs, private lessons, workshops, and camps. Each year, NTPA produces over 200 shows across its network of theatres, providing young people with hands-on experience in the performing arts and helping them build confidence, discipline, and leadership. At the heart of NTPA’s mission is the Ten Characters program—a unique character development framework that teaches students core values like integrity, respect, responsibility, and loving one another. These principles are woven into every aspect of programming, encouraging students to grow not only as performers, but as people. NTPA also offers adult productions (NTPA Repertory and Community Theatre), professional-level conservatory training through its NTPA Academy and Collegiate Pursuits programs, and adaptive theatre programming (NTPA Starcatchers) for youth and adults with disabilities. The organization is deeply committed to accessibility and community engagement, offering scholarships and inclusive opportunities to ensure that every student has a chance to participate, regardless of their background. With a passionate team of staff, artists, educators, and volunteers, NTPA continues to cultivate a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive performing arts community that empowers youth and strengthens families across North Texas.
