About Northeast Canine

Northeast Canine (NEC) is a nonprofit dedicated to restoring independence, confidence, and connection for veterans and first responders through expertly trained Great Dane service dogs. Founded on compassion and backed by over a decade of training expertise, we specialize in mobility support and psychiatric service dog partnerships that change lives. From breeding and early socialization to advanced public access and task training, every NEC dog is carefully matched and trained to meet the unique needs of their human partner. Our programs are provided at no cost to the recipient thanks to the generosity of our community and supporters. In 2024, we successfully trained and placed 11 service dogs. As we look to the future, NEC is working toward expanding its facility in southern New Hampshire to increase our capacity, improve operational sustainability, and serve more heroes in need. We’re also growing our board and fundraising operations to support this next chapter.
