About Northeast HERS Alliance
The Northeast Home Energy Rating System (NEHERS) Alliance was formed in 1998 to foster, unify and promote HERS programs in the Northeast (i.e. New England, New York and New Jersey). Since that time, the Alliance and its 20+ member organizations have developed goals and objectives for achieving its mission of standardizing and increasing home energy ratings (HERS), energy mortgages (EM's), and ENERGY STAR Homes throughout the region. In 2008 we finalized our incorporation as a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization and have grown to over 300 rater members. We are guided by a Board of Directors elected annually from our membership as well as a set of bylaws that were revised in 2007. Several part time staff support the Board, membership, and training programs we offer.
