About Northern Gateway Films

Northern Gateway Films was founded by 2 accomplished Edmonton filmmakers, Andrew Scholotiuk and Dylan Pearce and bring over a combined 25 years of industry experience in feature length films and MOW’s that have been released in theatres and festivals and broadcasters across the globe. Their relationships with overseas distributors and foreign sale companies give them a strong foundation for creating successful and profitable media projects. Their projects have been awarded with a Lumiere Award at Warner Brother Studios (Past Winners Martin Scorsese Hugo, Ang Lee Life of Pie, James Cameron Avatar), Alberta Motion Picture Awards and nomination for best director at the Canadian Screen Awards. Past films include, For the Love of Pasta (2021), Christmas with a Crown (2020), Christmas Cupcakes (2018) starring Erin Karpluk (Being Erica, Rookie Blue) & Cindy (The Big Year). Other films include 40 Below & Falling 3D (2015) starring Jewel Staite (Firefly, Serenity) 40 Below or A Frosty Affair for it’s USA release, their first feature film, Baby Blues (2008) had the the highest per-screen-average opening weekend in North American theatres; I Think I Do (2013) staring Mia Kirsher (Black Dahlia) and Sarah Canning (A Series of Unfortunate Events). These films have aired on Lifetime, Hallmark, UpTV, W Network, Super Channel and numerous other broadcasters in over 25 countries. Northern Gateway Films expands their market by producing innovative media products for the latest technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), using mocap, virtual production and game engines to create content that can be widely consumed by the audience.
