Northern Geotechnical Engineering (NGE) was formed in 2000 as a sole proprietorship in Anchorage, Alaska, focusing on geotechnical engineering in cold regions. Terra Firma, Inc. (TFI) was incorporated in 1998 as an independently owned company authorized to provide material testing and Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) services in the State of Alaska, operating out of Anchorage, Alaska. The incorporation of the company (NGE-TFT) combined the talents of the two companies, increasing the talents of both entities.
