About Norton Hall Children & Family Centre

We are a community-based charity working in the Ward End and Alum Rock areas of Birmingham, communities with disproportionate levels of environmental, social and economic deprivation. Our inclusive, responsive services have developed and changed over the last 50 years to support women and children in our communities, focusing on Health, Social and Economic outcomes. We act as an anchor within what are often considered ‘hard to reach’ communities, to create bottom up change by developing projects that respond to local needs. We do this by working collaboratively with a range of partners such as local schools, local authority bodies, third sector organisations, education services, social services and more. Our key client groups include: Women We provide education, training, employment and health and wellbeing support for women affected by health inequalities, and experiencing economic and social disadvantage. Children and Young People We provide positive activities and mentoring support for disadvantaged children with additional support needs, disabilities and children with social and emotional behavioural problems. We provide childcare for children of working parents afterschool and during school holidays Services for Pre School children We provide ‘OUTSTANDING’ pre-school education to raise the attainment of children whose social and educational starting point is significantly lower than the national average.
