About NOSUTA

Nosuta is addressing Japan’s forestry crisis by creating a pipeline of skilled workers from Southeast Asia. Through partnerships with eight forestry faculties in Indonesia, we run a one-year capstone program covering everything from Japanese language to forestry techniques. Graduates either join local Japanese companies or contribute to our own operations under Nosuta Forestry. Our goal is to bridge Japan’s forestry talent gap, as 60% of the workforce nears retirement by 2030, and demonstrate that Southeast Asian talent can excel in this high-hazard industry. We also aim to unlock the potential of Japan’s mature forests, where 64% of planted trees are over 50 years old and ready for harvest but lack the workforce to manage them. Our recruitment business supports both third-party forestry services and our own operations, tapping into millions of hectares of aging, underutilized forests. Nosuta is not just filling jobs, we’re revitalizing Japan’s forestry industry through the right people, training, and bold action.
