About Notes By The Bay Music Festival & School
Notes By The Bay Music Festival and School was founded in 2015 in the SF Bay Area by violinist Hannah Tarley, with the vision of bringing together music, poetry, theater, ensemble performance, imagination, and creativity. With a focus on string instruments, we explore the connection between music and spoken word, putting together performances that elevate the spirits of both the listener and the performer. For our Summer Festival (for kids 6 - 18), we select pieces that help our students not only improve and develop their playing technique, but also explore their creative power, imagination, and leadership skills. We specialize in one-on-one private lessons (violin & viola), ensemble groups, orchestra/audition preparation, masterclasses, and competition preparation. Our students have performed solo with youth orchestras across the Bay Area, and have received awards from competitions such as BAMA's US Open Int'l Competition, and Golden Classical Music Awards.
