About Nottingham Music Service
We believe that music makes a difference. As a registered charity and lead partner for the Nottingham Music Education Hub, we are committed to making music more accessible and inclusive. We run and support instrumental tuition in nearly 80% of primary schools in Nottingham City, which means that every year we help teach nearly 8,000 young people to play an instrument! We also support young people from across the city to develop their musical skills by participating in our diverse ensembles and performances, contributing to the cultural life of our great city. Our ensembles include the Area Band Network, afterschool music programmes for beginners that are among the most inclusive ensembles in the country with annual fees as little as £20 per child, Band Factory which caters to our rock and pop enthusiasts and helps young people form bands, our fantastic Robin Hood Youth Orchestra that has links with the youth orchestras in Halle & Karlsruhe, and many more!
