Novella Solutions specialises in harnessing the power of storytelling to deliver strategic sales and marketing capabilities for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industry clients. Stories are how we understand the world around us, yet storytelling is a skill that many STEM professionals and their organisations lack. Our mission is to change that. Our clients are STEM innovators seeking more effective ways to communicate with decision-makers and influencers. Our brains are wired to build stories to explain our experiences. Once we arrive at an explanation, it takes a well-crafted narrative to stimulate the brain to accept a new one. Yet, what makes someone interested is very subjective. So the storyteller must recognise how to adapt the narrative for any given audience. Explaining STEM ideas requires good storytelling skills. It is a rare technologist that can communicate well to all stakeholders and, when they can, there is an opportunity cost to take them away from their work to explain what they’re doing. Yet, delegating the explanation can introduce challenges of its own when trying to correctly represent the concept, research or innovation. A vision for the future of the offer or the organisation behind it so that stakeholders are assured of ongoing investment and momentum. 3. Inform. A narrative playbook to use with key stakeholders. 4. Communicate. Training and coaching modules to make storytellers of STEM professionals.
