About Novogaia

At Novogaia, we are pioneering a new frontier in drug discovery by decoding the chemical language of fungi. Our mission is to uncover entirely new classes of bioactive small molecules, hidden in the genetic and metabolic signatures of these ancient organisms, and bring them into modern medicine. While nature has inspired many of today’s drugs, most of its chemistry remains unexplored, especially within the fungal kingdom. The challenge isn’t a lack of bioactivity — in fact all metabolites in nature are by definition evolved to be bioactive — but the complexity of isolating and understanding natural compounds at scale. Our platform integrates machine learning, fungal genomics, and mass spectrometry to overcome this bottleneck, enabling high-throughput discovery of novel molecular matter that could modulate human biology in ways molecules from synthetic libraries cannot.
