About NTU Current Affairs Society

Current Affairs Society (CAS) in Nanyang Technological University was established in 1990 by the student enthusiasts with the support of the Student Affairs Office. Today, NTU CAS is proud to be the foremost student-based organisation for the promotion of current affairs among the NTU population. We believe that every youth today needs to be aware of the key issues in the world. Our club is interested in a whole range of topics, e.g. politics, sports, business, economics, culture. Essentially, we discuss about anything that appears in the news. In order to increase awareness of current affairs among NTU students, we base our activities on numerous ad-hoc events throughout the year. ● News sharing sessions during our club meetings: the purpose is to further the current affairs knowledge of our members. ● CurreNTUpdate: A current affairs challenge facing NTU students, which attracted around 50 participants to compete against each other through a very intense yet interesting game format. ● CAS Challenge: A news competition, with top JC students on board and contesting against other JCs to win the finale! ● Conversation with the Leaders of Tomorrow: a forum with guest speakers jointly organised with the People’s Association Youth Movement and NUS Students’ Political Association. Topic involved in the discussion are related to government policies.
