About NTU Hall of Residence 5
Founded in 1989, NTU Hall of Residence 5 is one of the university’s longest-standing and most iconic halls. Known across campus for its vibrant culture, strong community spirit and rich student life, Hall V is home to over 500 residents annually. Affectionately called the “Home of the Fivers,” it is celebrated not just for its distinctive architecture but also for being a launchpad for student leadership, creativity and collaboration. Hall 5 is powered by a wide range of student-led committees and initiatives. The Hall 5 Council (JCRC) serves as the elected body representing the hall community, overseeing welfare, engagement and operations. HAVOC, the Hall V Orientation Committee, drives the signature welcome experience that bonds incoming residents through one of NTU’s most dynamic orientation camps. Other flagship committees include HAPz (Hall Anniversary Party Committee), which organises the annual Dinner & Dance and Senior’s Farewell, TYH (Twenty-One Young Hearts), which leads social service and charity-based outreach efforts, and QP (Quintsical Productions), the hall’s creative collective focused on storytelling, media and performance. Hall 5 also boasts a resident Jam Band, as well as a wide spread of subcommittees covering sports, cultural events and special interests. More than just a residence, Hall 5 has remained a defining part of the NTU experience for generations of students
