About Nubian United Benevolent International Association (NUBIA)
Mission Statement Creating a lasting impact on food justice, community revitalization, and youth development through community agriculture and skills workshops. NUBIA aims to build a strong community by joining local kids, teenagers, and families together around community agriculture, skills workshops, and culture. Since 2006, NUBIA has served as a community base in Roxbury, and has worked to revitalize the community through the introduction of urban gardens, as well as through youth swimming programs and community skills workshops. The community garden plots, of which there are over 60 located in six different gardens across Boston, grow organic produce that is donated to the community and local food banks. NUBIA works to bring a sense of community and social responsbility to Roxbury and other neighborhoods that it serves.
