About Nullshima Studio

Based in The Netherlands, Nullshima Studio is a creative production studio led by interdisciplinary artists Anne Fehres and Luke Conroy, whose collaborative practice navigates complex socio-cultural themes through innovative multimedia approaches. The studio’s work critically engages with cultural heritage, identity, climate change, artificial intelligence, digital culture, and decolonization, inviting audiences to explore the layered narratives shaping contemporary life. Anne brings a background in documentary film and audiovisual design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, while Luke draws from his education in sociology, visual arts, and education at the University of Tasmania, Australia. Together, they combine personal insight and academic rigor through a distinctive collage methodology that weaves imagery, sound, and research into immersive, multi-dimensional projects. Nullshima Studio’s work has been supported by leading institutions including Creative Europe, the European Cultural Foundation, Mondriaan Fonds, the Creative Industries Fund NL, the Film Fund NL, the Goethe Institut, the Consulate General of the Netherlands, the Italian Ministry of Culture, and Arts Council Malta and Eye Film Museum. Projects from the studio have been presented as solo exhibitions in institutions such as Hošek Contemporary (Germany), Concordia (The Netherlands), and Pier-2 Art Center (Taiwan). Other works have featured at renowned institutions and festivals like the International Film Festival Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Into The Great Wide Open (The Netherlands) Viborg Kunsthal (Denmark), LINZ FMR (Austria), Hong-gah Museum (Taiwan), Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival (Greece) and DMZ Docs (Korea).
