About Nuoceans
Nuoceans is a start-up company focused on recycling the unrecyclable: we have designed the first ever sandal made from ocean waste flip flops, discarded fishing nets and other recycled materials, that is also fully recyclable with our recuperation scheme: the NUOS. Our aim is to clean our oceans by inspiring and empowering every person to make a difference, together, one step at a time. The footwear industry is amongst the largest contributors to pollution around the world and the flip-flop market alone produces tens of millions of pairs, hundreds of thousands of which are unrecyclable and end up in our oceans. Every year 3 BILLION pairs are produced worldwide and flip flops account for 10-20% of all beach cleans! We have been working tirelessly to find a way to reuse these materials and we have now succeeded! Our sandals are designed to be fully circular, meaning that not only do they clean the oceans but they also guarantee that we can remake new sandals from old ones, keeping our oceans clean!
