About Nurstead Mental Health & Consulting Services
Nurstead Mental Health & Consulting Services is a mental health and substance use treatment agency that also provides a quality training to behavioral health professionals, law enforcement, corrections, military, and schools in a wide array of areas. In direct treatment Nurstead provides outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient therapy, peer support and skills building. Nurstead also has the only 24 hour Drop-In Center in the state of New Mexico and operates one of the most active Mobile Crisis Teams in the State of New Mexico providing crisis and stabilization services to Curry and Roosevelt County, with a service are of 3900 square miles. Nurstead also provides contracted crisis and disruptive event responses, and has responded to some of the largest crisis events of the past decade including the El Paso Shooting, the Midland Shooting, and countless other natural disasters and tragedies in the Southwest. In the training aspect of our work Nurstead’s focus is in topics such as mental health, substance use, crisis response, ethics, leadership, and wellness, and provides training to a wide array of professionals. Nurstead’s training department has worked extensively with the US Airforce, and Law Enforcement. Currently, Nurstead is working with the New Mexico Corrections Department and Department of Health to train all corrections officers and adult probation and parole officers in crisis communication, crisis response, and suicide prevention.
