NYU Concrete Canoe is a competitive civil engineering team that designs and constructs a canoe made of concrete and competes at regional and national competitions along with thousands of other students from around the world. Last year, we placed 8th overall out of 250+ teams across North America. Our team is composed of a diverse group of students from different areas of interest playing a part in our various sub-teams, including hull design, structural analysis, mix design, construction, aesthetics, marketing, special projects, and paddling. Each year, we pioneer industry-leading innovations in construction materials and methods and demonstrate our innovations by competing at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Concrete Canoe Competition.
