About NZ Policy Research Institute
The NZ Policy Research Institute (formerly known as NZ Work Research Institute) conducts enquiry-driven research to explore the issues affecting people and work. Director of the Institute Professor Gail Pacheco is supported by Deputy Director Lisa Meehan, Associate Director (Human Resource Management) Professor Katherine Ravenswood, and leaders of our specialist research groups. Our four specialist research groups enable research experts to provide high-quality research (at both a national and international level) that ticks the boxes for both academic rigour, as well as being relevant to policy makers in business, government, and the community in general. Our research largely regards labour market dynamics; employment relations; wellbeing and performance; diversity in the workplace; crime and safety; public policy; sustainability; health and wellbeing; and the role of technology. The Institute also provides commissioned work for a range of external clients, with recent examples including work for the Productivity Commission; Ministry for Women; Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment; United Nations Women; The Health Research Council and the Rockwool Foundation. We place emphasis on a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach and rank engagement with external stakeholders as high priority.
