About O’NEILL THEN What started over fifty years ago as publicity and promotions for Starlight Theater, the Auto Show, the Boat Show, hockey, boxing and basketball, and managing local gubernatorial, mayoral and capital improvement campaigns, O’Neill Marketing & Event Management had its humble beginnings as O’Neill Communications, established by Pat O’Neill Sr. Pat O’Neill Jr. jumped into the business in 1984 after working as a country newspaper editor and proprietor of a boomtown bar in the mountains of Colorado. He earned his stripes, reputation, gray hair and wrinkles as a consultant, publicist and media spokesperson for entertainment venues, casinos, church organizations, hotels and civic issues in Kansas City and throughout the region.
