About Oak Grove Culinary Creations
Culinary Creations is a Vocational Training Program for at-risk and special needs youth. The program provides culinary skills, customer service and hospitality training. Youth that complete the program are ready and able to enter the workforce. We teach the value of hard work and strong character, preparing youth to be successful in “the world of work.” Many of our children have suffered from abuse, trauma, depression, and many other problems. Oak Grove is committed to helping these children overcome their problems so they can become productive, responsible adults. Since 2013, our youth have worked with Robin McCoy, Director of Culinary Programs and Executive Pastry Chef. We have found that as our at-risk youth experience the power of the Culinary Arts and hospitality, amazing things can happen including: Healing Greater confidence and self-esteem Freedom in self-expression Positively connecting with others We have expanded this program employing our at-risk youth and special-needs individuals right here at Culinary Creations. Our Culinary Arts Program includes: Pastry Preparation Decorating Catering Customer Service Barista Skills When our students complete the program, they have an employable skill set.
