In 1998, Alec Boriss opened his mortgage brokerage business at its present location, 2330 Oak Street, in the heart of Jacksonville’s historic district. The business was a lender branch until, in 2004, Alec decided to incorporate Oak Street Financial, Inc. as a Correspondent Lender with license to originate FHA and other government loans as well as convention loans. Although the company has the authority to, and does, lend money directly, many loans are brokered to other lenders. The ability to broker loans gives the company the ability to tailor the loan process to the specific needs of the individual borrower. The company hires and trains loan originators and processors to insure good client service as well as compliance with government regulations and procedures. Every employee knows that the client deserves the very best that we have to offer in mortgage lending as well as confidential treatment of his financial matters. Our staff of loan originators are very experienced. Three of us have owned our own mortgage business and most have well over 10 years of experience n the business. Each originator has complied with the National Mortgage Lending SAFE act and will soon be registered originators within the national registry. The originators act as a team with respect to loan programs; helping each other with specific areas of individual expertise.
