Obsidian was established to provide truly independent and bespoke fee-based Financial Planning solutions to both Corporations and High-Net Worth expatriates in Singapore. We noticed a major disconnect between industry practice and client centricity, internationally, and set out to provide a proposition centred fully around the needs of our clients. We take the time to really understand our clients and what’s important to them. Any subsequent official propositions are carefully tailored to their circumstances and requirements. Obsidian is an Appointed Representative of Synergy Financial Advisers who are authorised and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) with FA Licence No. FA100050. We maintain full autonomy and are not subject to any internal or external influence when constructing solutions for our clients which means that we will always advise on what we feel is in our clients best interests. Our minimum investment level is $500,000 USD or currency equivalent. What does “fee based” mean? Quite simply, we charge a transparent and understandable fee for the work and liability undertaken. This means that our clients are never ‘locked in’ to any investment solutions and have access to 100% of their capital, penalty-free, at all times. We never charge commissions on any investment-based solutions, and only receive commissions on insurance policies which are always disclosed. You are never contractually obligated to remain with Obsidian, and if ever you feel you’re not receiving value or are dissatisfied with the service, you have the freedom to disengage at any point, and move on.
