For example, If you want to get to the shops independently but have an injury, we can work with you to problem solve and find the best way for you to achieve this. Sometimes along with mental health comes the loss of ability to function at your optimal level and daily tasks such as budgeting, shopping and planning become a problem in itself. Another example is by utilising virtual reality, we can engage people who have autism more willingly as they are interested in the therapy. This allows us to observe problem solving, sequencing, coordination, spacial awareness and executive functioning. We are able to help you to achieve this and please remember that this is your therapy, so you always have input! Animal assisted therapy is not a new approach to achieving therapeutic goals and there is ample research to support the advantages. Hudson is a 1 year old small staffy who is all legs, with a big personality who just wants to please you. He is great with people of all ages. Together, Hudson and I are able to provide a more holistic approach to achieving goals and tasks and ensure that therapy is never dull!
