About Oclef

Oclef is a pioneering piano education company that revolutionized the traditional once-a-week piano lesson model. Founded in 2015, we set out to solve a systemic issue that led to an 83% dropout rate among piano students within their first three years. Through extensive research, we discovered the root of the problem: a lack of regular practice and engagement caused by the once-a week lesson model. Our solution was the creation of a daily practice model facilitated by cutting-edge software and a community-driven approach. At Oclef, we believe in the power of daily engagement. Our students attend 1:1 lessons and group classes, including Kaizen (our unique practice sessions), music theory, and composition, at least 5 days a week. This structure not only cultivates discipline and a love for music but also ensures consistent progress and musical literacy. Our innovative approach, encapsulated by the motto “Piano Every Day,” has made us one of the fastest-growing education companies in the country. With headquarters in San Jose, California, Oclef offers both in-person and online instruction, making piano education accessible to students from the SF Bay Area and Seattle, to New York and Washington D.C. Our curriculum is designed to cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced students, focusing on music literacy, performance, and creativity.
