At OilCo, we focus on attracting new investments to the oil and gas industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and maximizing returns through equity investments—positioning this province as a globally preferred location for development. Our roots began with Nalcor Energy-Oil and Gas with the acquisition of participating interests in three offshore Newfoundland and Labrador projects. In 2010, our team began making strategic investments in new data acquisition and analysis so we can better understand the potential in our province’s offshore basins. Fast forward to 2020, when the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador established our new Crown corporation. Our team of approximately 30 people has deep global industry knowledge and vast perspectives gained from working across multiple corporations and continents. Together, we’re moving beneficial opportunities forward in the oil and gas industry, acting as stewards of these resources while capturing value at every stage of exploration and development—creating a future full of economic opportunity for generations of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
