About Oilstone Leadership

Oilstone was founded to provide leadership equipping to pastors and leaders in gospel ministry — to help them grow as disciples, grow others, grow their churches and organisations and grow gospel work, under God. Oilstone was originally founded by Michael Lin and Rev Dr Peter Moore (with a combined 75 years of church and ministry leadership and disciple-making). It was initially developed to meet the demonstrable needs of Australian pastors and leaders to develop their critical people leadership skills and support their life-long growth and fruitfulness. In 2019, Oilstone joined with a number of other ministries to form Reach Australia for Christ. Reach Australia's vision to see double the number of Christians in Australia by 2035 by equipping and support pastors to grow healthy, evangelistic, multiplying churches, and seeing 300 new churches planted. In 2023, with the encouragement of others, Oilstone began investigating providing this leadership equipping to pastors in the USA. Leadership that will help pastors build disciple-making cultures that revitalise their churches, for the sake of the gospel in their communities. The initiative has begun and Oilstone reformulated for the USA as 'The Church Transformation Project'. Pastors sign up to The Project in their church. They are then equipped and supported as they make the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly changes to reshape ministry around disciple-making and bring about transformation in their church. 'The Church Transformation Project' is a DOING project, not a LEARNING program. The concept of an 'oilstone' — using a rock for sharpening — is one of the oldest pieces of 'technology' around. So too is learning on the job, with the support of other competent leader.s Like using an oilstone, on the job training takes extra time and effort but it is still the way to get the sharpest edge. Through the churches, may all men know that we are His disciples and God be glorified.
