About Oliveseed Foundation

We empower rural communities through quality programs in literacy and education, sustainable livelihoods for women, and environmental stewardship. We work in Kenya and Morocco, in close collaboration with teachers, elders, and community members. In the Maasai Mara region of Kenya, we develop libraries, science labs, and other resources at the rural schools most in need; and in the smallest villages, we build libraries that become community centers. We operate a purified water facility for the region and a women's work center with income-generating activities for Maasai women, all solar powered. We're co-registered in Kenya as the community-based nonprofit Oliveseed Kenya Trust. In rural Morocco, our legacy English library program Morocco Library Project, in over 30 schools, has evolved into a nationwide Short Story Competition for young people. We publish books from this annual initiative distributed in multiple countries.
