The Onda concept was born from personal experience. Growing up surfing in Malibu in the 70s and 80s, I watched how technology transformed surf forecasting—from local knowledge and 976-Surf reports to mobile apps. Yet despite these advances, my friends and I still found ourselves sharing conditions via text threads, with valuable knowledge disappearing into the void. As technologists and lifelong surfers, we recognized that recent breakthroughs in AI could finally solve this persistent problem. Onda isn't just another surf app—it's a platform that gets smarter with every wave ridden and every report shared. We're building and launching the first version in May 2025.
