About ONE City Scholarship Fund

The ONE City Scholarship awards 25 plus scholarships each year to Toronto District School Board (TDSB) students who have faced many barriers and yet have demonstrated high potential for success in post-secondary. Our recipients have persevered through personal and family challenges to get their high school diploma. ONE City’s close connections to schools help us to find determined and ambitious students who may not deem their accomplishments worthy of a scholarship and who may be overlooked by other scholarship organizations. Through our mentoring program, ONE City scholars are provided the opportunity to connect with students and meet mentors with similar lived experience, all in the service of expanding personal networks and building community. As well, we offer recipients opportunities for employment as mentors and summer interns. ONE City scholars are extraordinary students who live in all different parts of Toronto. They are proud of their neighbourhoods and proud of their identities. They are beacons that shine a light on the essential brilliance and optimism of so many young people in Toronto. With our scholarship, we let our recipients know that there are many adults in Toronto who ‘see’ them and are rooting for their success. In this way, we play a role in ensuring that they stay on the path to success in post-secondary.
