ONE Group, LLC. Olympic Networks Executives, LLC was launched in the fall of 2005 by key leaders of a transformational economic development initiative called Clallam networks. The initiative transformed a 30-year declining economy in Clallam County on the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington State utilizing ViTAL Economy principles and tools. Jim Haguewood, Clallam Economic Development Council Director from 2000-2005, lead the rejuvenation of the regions economic development strategy creating business cases and empowering hundreds of private sector business leaders. Within five years, Clallam County was removed for the Washington State Distressed County list, over $100M in collaborative projects were achieved, local retail sales increased by over $300M (44%) and the regions average wage grew from 66% to 71% of the state average. The epic economic development accomplishments generated unprecedented attention to the region and the members of the ONE Group including receipt of the Washington State 2003 Governor’s Economic Development Award for “Unique Partnerships.” The 2003 National Governors Conference Recognized Clallam networks as a model for rural transformation, 2004 Washington State Small Business Incubator Association Leadership Award and in April 2005 Kiplinger’s recognized Clallam County, Washington as one of the ten best places for entrepreneurs. Jim Haguewood provided his insightful and entertaining presentations before the Northwest Area Foundation’s Inaugural Grassroots and Groundwork Conference, University of Arkansas Breakthrough Solutions Conference, 2005 National Conference of State Legislators, Heart of Wisconsin Community Progress Initiative and the 2003 and 2004 Washington State Governors Economic Development Conference. The ONE Group partners believe in the ViTAL Economy Alliance through bringing best practice, private sector business experience and collaboration to underserved rural communities.
