About One Million Strong

One Million Strong an initiative that is essentially a collaborative platform build around one common cause – raising the next generation of leaders. Having been personally experienced the evil of drug addiction Paul Jones, the founder could not stand by and watch young people making bad decisions that would negatively impact them for the rest of their lives. Our collaborative partners are made up of numerous organisations, not just in Africa, but in several other countries throughout the world. The potential to reach millions of young people starts becoming a reality if we can empower these organisations to go forth and leverage the power of synergy. One Million Strong is focused on making a difference by challenging young people to take responsibility for their lives; to stand up and be a solution and not the problem. Our goal is to equip young people with values and principles that will assist them to make life changing decisions. We achieve this by training Youth Coaches; typically, young people between 20 – 30 years of age. These youth coaches are trained to facilitate various programs that 1MS has developed. Each program targets a different age group: I. Breakthrough (11-14 years) II. Breakthrough Xtreme (15- 19 years) III. Launch (20-24 years) IV. Transformer (Teachers) The results have been amazing. We have seen young people totally transform which of course has a major impact on the schools where we work. For us it has been an exciting journey and we look forward to reaching more and more young people. Currently located in South Africa, USA, Honduras, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda.
