About One Ocean Planet
We are committed to restoring and protecting the ocean because we believe it is the biggest natural solution available to address climate change. Of all of Earth’s ecosystems, the ocean absorbs the most heat, creates the most oxygen, and stores carbon. We also know that human behaviour and consumption is radically transforming and destroying the ocean’s ability to regulate our ecosystems. In short, we are putting all the wonderful things it does for planetary life at risk. So protecting the ocean is protecting what we love. Our work aims to accelerate solutions that reduce the damage human activities have had on the ocean’s ability to protect life on the planet. We want to bring urgency and activate the critical 20% of the population that will get us to the positive social tipping points that flips society and changes behaviour and consumption. The rapid deterioration of the ocean is a fact. Doing something about it is a choice.
