There are many things that can be said about the color Red. Red is the color of the Passion. It is a bold color. It can scream at your “Look over here”. Albert Einstein once painted his door red because he couldn’t recognize his house without it. For centuries Red has had symbolic meaning. The creation of the One Red Door name represents so many cultures belief in this one idea. In the Jewish culture, a Red Door is a reminder of Passover. For Catholics, a Red Door means that the ground beyond the door is holy, a sanctuary from physical and spiritual evils. In China, a Red Door represents good luck and happiness. In other cultures, a red door is symbolic of protection, or even just being welcomed. It is said that in the Underground Railroad, homes with a Red Door were “safe houses”. The Red Door also represents desire. As in things you desire or long for in life, such as a dream or a goal. For some people it is a good luck charm and may represent the realization of a dream.
