About One World Learning
We are One World Learning, a youth-led nonprofit organization that strives to provide education and English lessons to students internationally and help bridge the disparity of education around the world. We are two students from a local high school in Surrey who founded this organization after experiencing the power of education and language and wishing to provide children around the world with the same opportunities as us. We recruit tutors and pair them up with students to have weekly lessons to improve their English skills. Whether that be through oral lessons, or reading and vocabulary development, we have conducted over 1100+ lessons and donated over $8,500 CAD to local and international charities. Our lessons are completely tailored to the student and as such we have expanded to incorporate teaching math and science in the lessons along with English. Many of our students have found the lessons very helpful and have increased the class time and frequency. Due to the pandemic, there was a lost connection across the world so we decided to do our part in connecting people from all around the globe. We wanted to provide volunteering opportunities for other high schoolers and provide students access to tutoring through online means.
