About OneFarm Impact

OneFarm Impact is a non-profit organisation which has been setup to support OneFarm Share and other high-impact programs which are driving food security and building sustainable agricultural value chains in South Africa. In South Africa approximately 11.8% of households face food insecurity, which translates to around 7.08 million people. Despite a relatively mature agriculture sector producing about 31 million tonnes of food annually, nearly 10 million tonnes - a third of total food production - is wasted each year. A significant portion of this food can be rescued through targeted interventions. The OneFarm Share programme has been established to minimise food waste in commercial agriculture and provide market access for smallholder farmers to ultimately alleviate food insecurity and drive economic rural development. OneFarm Share is committed to building sustainable agricultural value chains in South Africa. OneFarm Impact NPC, established in early 2022, is a registered nonprofit entity in South Africa, acting as the funding vehicle to receive, manage, and implement all funds for the OneFarm Share Programme. The OneFarm Share Programme and OneFarm Share Platform is an integrated socio-economic development programme and impact platform, designed to address key agriculture value chain challenges, including: 1. food waste reduction 2. smallholder/new generation farmer development, and 3. food insecurity alleviation. Since its inception in March 2021, the OneFarm Share Programme has distributed over 26,000 tonnes of produce, equating to more than 105.6 million meals to end beneficiaries. Through strategic partnerships, including Standard Bank and HelloChoice, we have developed a robust agri-food marketplace to rescue fresh produce, provide market access for farmers, and securely channel food donations to registered charities and vulnerable communities. OneFarm Share currently supports 1.2 million people with fresh food on a regular basis.
