About Ontario Association of Broadcasters
OAB ANNUAL EVENTS: CONNECTION: The ANNUAL CONFERENCE will include panels, presentations and sessions benefiting all positions and people within the broadcasting industry, from sales & revenue, to programming, social media, operations and ownership. CAREER DAY: Career Day is a unique event that connects broadcasting students with industry professionals in a casual round-table setting to candidly talk and ask questions. This is a tremendous opportunity students would not ordinarily have. Many schools have included Career Day in their curriculum. Each year the OAB presents the Michael Monty Scholarship Award to a lucky student, who's not only strong academically but also gives back to their school and community by volunteering. Career Day is open to all students currently enrolled in broadcasting or broadcasting related programs at post secondary schools in Ontario. OAB HISTORY: The Ontario Association of Broadcasters was established in 1950, originally as the Central Canada Broadcasters Association, to serve the common interests of privately owned radio and television station operators in the province. OAB MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to Radio and Television stations licensed in Ontario. Post-secondary schools, businesses and organizations with an interest in the broadcast industry are eligible for associate membership.
