About Open Door Care

Open Door Care is a Youth Residential Services provider. Currently our care homes are based in the North west of Ireland in County Sligo. We at Open Door Care provide separated children with the highest standard of accommodation. Each young person under our care is assessed to establish their individual needs & a care plan for each young person is established, using a person-centred approach keeping the individual needs at the core of their plan. Sligo itself is a nurturing and supportive environment for youths who are new arrivals to the community. We are fortunate to have access to Foroige at 'The Crib' for teenagers to socialise and meet others. Sligo County Council and the National Council of Youth Sports who run community integration events are constantly providing integration opportunities. We are equally lucky in Sligo to hold the prestigious title of 'Volunteering Capital of Europe'. Sligo Volunteer Centre is at the heart of our community welcoming in both youths and adults alike and encouraging integration by assisting volunteer based services. Sligo's Global Kitchen offers an opportunity for different cultures to integrate and educate each other by sharing foods, the Global Kitchen events are hosted regularly in The Model Niland Centre, where a warm welcome awaits all who attend. We categorise the individual needs of the new arrivals into the following categories... social needs, education and access to youth services, medical and psychological needs, education, access to youth and adult services. The team at Open Door Care and I are dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards, maintaining properties, and offering trauma and relationship counselling. Our mission is to empower individuals through educational development, which in turn enriches our local community. My role as an accommodation services provider encompasses health, safety, and efficient property management, ensuring a supportive space for personal growth.
