About Open Innovation Society

Open Innovation Society We are a non-profit, global collective of business experts, founders, and consultants with a common goal: to help small businesses and local economies thrive by breaking down the barriers to innovation. Our collective was born from an urgent and real-world need for start-up teams and small businesses to access high-quality advice across key business functions to adapt to rapidly changing, uncertain ‘new normal’. Our first initiative, a series of pop-up workshops called the 'Innovation Helpdesk' helped companies quickly pivot their business model to work with Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. Our model is simple. We combine expertise across key business functions, giving businesses access to a wider range and higher quality expertise than they could access on their own. We create tools and resources that are free and open-sourced, scaling reach exponentially, and using the power of the commons to improve materials. And we encourage businesses to come together in a grass-roots community, sharing knowledge to common problems across the world. We provide resources and advice in multiple languages (so far English, French, Spanish - and more to come) and key disciplines such as business strategy, operations, product, brand, design, tech, web/e-commerce, marketing, and communications. We want to change systems, from the bottom up. It’s our hope that by backing small and local, we’ll all be open for business faster with the confidence to keep pivoting and innovating; creating together a better post-pandemic world.
